Easy to Operate: The Ninja Kitchen System 1100 is not difficult to use; basically one push of a button does it all. With the 1100-watt motor and one-touch pulsing, you can add your ingredients, push the button and be on your way to making the best recipes. There are no fancy or unnecessary buttons to work with; instead just enough to get everything blended perfectly. At the end of making your recipes, clean up is simple and the parts are removable and dishwasher safe.
What’s Not So Great About the Ninja Kitchen System 1100 - Model NJ602 with Free Cookbook?
Grainy Results: A lot of current owners have complained about getting “grainy” or “gritty” results. With most blenders, there is an art to perfectly blending foods, as some need a liquid base to start with or a particular order of ingredients. The Ninja Kitchen System 1100 is not recommended for juicing, so if you attempt to juice, you probably won’t be happy with the results.
The same goes for sauces and salad dressings that have the same grainy textures. Part of the reason for this is that the blender does not pull the ingredients from the top. While this is part of the technology built into the machine for better blends at certain ingredients, you may notice that by not pulling from the top, your results will be less smooth. To help keep the ingredients consistent, you can stop halfway through, push down the ingredients and blend again.
Poor Chopping: Every blender has its niche, and the Ninja Kitchen System 1100 works best for blending. It doesn’t do a great job of chopping, so if you toss in onion or garlic, you’ll find that the appliance struggles with these harder ingredients. Ice is another ingredient that can be difficult to chop up, although some current owners have had no problems with the ice. If you’ll be spending most of your time blending liquid ingredient with this machine, you’ll find more satisfaction with it than if you are planning on chopping ingredients.
Lids: The lids that are included with the Ninja Kitchen System 1100 are difficult to position. You need to be strong or at least get a really great pull in order to remove the lids. This can hold you back when trying to get things done around the kitchen. Another drawback to the lids is that they are not interchangeable. The blades are secured into the lid and not the base, so you will need to remove the lid in order to pour out the product and the blade will fall out. And since the blades are super sharp, you won’t want to be holding them on with your hands. Just keep in mind that if you plan on using the blender for multiple recipes, you’ll have to do some washing of the lids in between.
